PRINCIPLE

A fixed amount of copper sulfate mixed with alkaline salts in the form of tablets is added to a known amount of diluted wine. The mixture creates a rise in temperature which triggers the typical sugar reduction reaction. The results are obtained by observing the color resulting from excess blue copper salts and / or red copper oxide.
